Send your interpretations to sportandculture@opencouncil.co.uk for display in the archive.
The Open Council "Let's Merge Sport and Culture" scheme is calling for members to send in their interpretations of the relations between sport and culture. Why are London 2012 merging sport and culture? Is it a good idea to merge sport and culture? In what ways are sport and culture tied together? Could sport be merged with culture 100 years ago? What is the critical potential of sport compared to culture? Are there any culture-sports?
An exploration of the relationship between sport and culture inspired by the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad organisers who want to "bring together culture and sport into a single cultural programme."
